Cecilia was the perfect girl to kick off my senior portraits for the year. She’s so sweet and we had such a fun time on her shoot. This gorgeous girl had perfect weather for her session and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out!

Longing for Summer

The sun has been teasing me lately. I can feel it’s warmth sinking deep into my skin. The air smells different, and I can feel that spring is on the way. I know most Michiganders feel me on this one… where is spring already?? Better yet, let’s just skip to summer.

Zulfiqar and Sara // Maternity

Everyone remember Sara and Zulfiqar from their wedding last summer?

Well guess what? They’re now expecting a baby!! I was SO thrilled to be able to get the opportunity to work with these two again. They’re honestly the most wonderful couple, so upbeat and friendly. And they were such good sports for our chilly maternity shoot. They came all the way from warm Florida into Michigan’s winter weather!

This past year has been a big one for me. It’s crazy to see how far I’ve come in a year and how immensely my life and outlook on the future has changed. At the beginning of the year I had a huge curveball thrown in my life. Something I never saw coming but changed my life as I knew it. Once I realized it wasn’t the end of the world I started to look at this change as a good thing. With this attitude, I had one of the BEST summers of my life. Not only did I have some wonderful clients but I also learned how to manage my work and personal life much better. I actually had time for myself and I met some of the best people because of this. I made so many connections, met a ton of talented photographers from all over the world, and grew so much more as a person. I have learned so much about myself and realized I’m much stronger than I thought I was. I also realized who my true friends are and those who truly care about me. Likewise, I learned who I truly care about and couldn’t imagine my life without. I will continue to work on making those relationships stronger.There are a couple things that I know for sure about my future. First off, I will forever invest my time and heart into my family and friends. And lastly, I will consistently strive to do what I love and what makes me happy.

Those two truths are all that I need to have success.

Brian and Jillian

As the words flowed out from his lips tears began to form at every eye in sight. Brian clung to the paper from which he read his vows to Jillian from, occasionally letting go to wipe away a stray tear. There was not a dry eye in the house, including mine. As the vows came to a close everyone giggled in realization of all the emotion and tears. Jillian and Brian both had the sweetest vows I have yet to hear. This was the absolute perfect wedding for my last wedding of the year. They chose to have a very small intimate wedding of 21 people, including the bride and groom and wedding party. It was definitely different from your average wedding, which is what made me love it so much. Brian and Jillian are the most perfect match for each other and even though it was a chilly day, their love warmed us all.

They rented Ventura Pines cottage for the whole weekend and this is where the ceremony and reception took place. It’s a beautiful place!Brian and Jillian chose to do a “first-look” before the ceremony. I love when couples choose this, so intimate and special. I used the image on the left as their Facebook teaser.

Molly’s Senior Pictures

Molly is just a little bundle of joy. I shot her senior pictures on a windy fall day but we didn’t let the chill get to us. She brought her boyfriend along for the shoot so of course I had to snag a couple shots of the two of them at the end of the shoot. Let me tell you, they’re just precious.

Molly is actually acting in Sherlock Holmes! So she wanted a couple photos with her script, which I thought was an adorable idea : )

Travis and Breezy

When I met with Travis and Breezy over dinner before their wedding our conversation went on and on. The same applied for their engagement session that I had the opportunity to shoot earlier this year. Basically, we just clicked. And I have a feeling these two are like this with everyone. This wedding was without a doubt inspired by halloween (the couple’s favorite holiday). The day was so much fun and this group was so much fun.

They got married in the most BEAUTIFUL church.
Halloween masks I loved this I used the image on the left as their Facebook teaser. This was the beautiful view from their reception And the night ended with some late night pizza for the guests. Such a good idea!

Kevin and Cami’s Wedding

The rain lightly pattered on the tops of umbrellas as the bride came into view. She waltzed down toward her groom smiling from ear to ear. As the space between them grew smaller her smile grew larger. Finally their hands met and she quickly leaned in for a kiss before missing her window of opportunity. Cami was SO excited to see Kevin, tradition flew out the window. The sweet ceremony continued on and included personally vows and a couple more stolen kisses before, finally, they had their “first kiss” as husband and wife. I’ve never seen a couple seem more proud after the ceremony. Cami and Kevin were troupers through the chilly weather and I’m so happy I got the opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple on their beautiful day.

Now that’s one proud groom.

Hannah’s Senior Pictures

Honestly I don’t think this post needs much to say about it. I think Hannah is secretly a model. She is stunning, such a sweet girl, and such a natural behind the camera. I am so blessed to have had the most wonderful group of seniors this year.

Falling for Fall

After my senior session today I decided to make a little movie of my sister and my nephew. The weather was beautiful and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I am by NO means a videographer, but I do enjoy messing around with video sometimes. It’s nice to take a break from stills and work on something different. And it’s a lot easier when your subject is as adorable as this lil guy.
